SUMMER VACATION 2020 SAVED!

DOMESTIC BUCKET LIST FAMILY TRIPS

TO BOOK RIGHT NOW

While we were forced to reschedule many international bucket list trips planned for 2020, domestic destinations are cautiously optimistic that they will be open for business this summer. (We're keeping fingers and toes crossed!)

We're thrilled to share some amazing bucket list experiences right in our (relative) backyard. Each is within driving distance from Denver, Colorado (Videre Travel's home base) and offers maximum flexibility in terms of cancellation policies.

Book something now with no risk and have something to look forward to this summer! Together we will continue to create life's best moments through travel - however sticking a bit closer to home for now.

Live the Authentic Cowboy Life at
Vermejo Ranch, New Mexico

Vermejo Park Ranch’s 550,000 acre private ranch is the perfect summer getaway for active families. Kids love getting involved in this working bison ranch and spending plenty of time learning about and riding horses at the impressive equestrian center.

And this is not just a show for tourists. Vermejo is very much a working ranch, pioneering some really interesting conservation methods in this delicate ecosystem as well.

Here the fishing is amazing (16 lakes and over 30 miles of fly fishing stream), you can enjoy some epic hikes (head out with a guide and a picnic lunch for a full day adventure), and even try archery or skeet shooting!

The main building, built in 1908, reminds us of a European castle. And kids love sleeping in this stunning building! If you were forced to cancel a castle stay in Europe this summer, be sure to consider Vermejo!

And ... Videre Travel clients receive a complimentary bucket list sundowner experience - it's a surprise but trust us, amazing :)

Book It: Vermejo is located about 4 hours straight south of Denver, near Raton, New Mexico. Their cancellation policy is, for the moment generous and flexible, offering 100% refund up to just 48 hours ahead of arrival.

Mountain Bike With the Best in
Crested Butte, Colorado

Crested Butte, famous for stunning mountain peaks and impressive wildflowers all summer, is one of the best places to experience mountain biking. A true American sport, Crested Butte is the birthplace of modern mountain biking.

Singletrack literally extends in all directions from this charming mountain town. The guides at Eleven Experience are well-known within the mountain biking community and work with all levels and abilities of riders. Stay at the spectacular Scarp Ridge Lodge (with an indoor pool!) or Sopris House, just one block off Crested Butte’s lively main drag.

Book It: Crested Butte is located about 4 hours west of Denver. Their cancellation policy has been adjusted to allow maximum flexibility, offering a full credit of the deposit to be used at any Eleven property if cancelled 30 days or more before arrival.

Enjoy Epic Views of the Grand Canyon from Sedona, Arizona

The Grand Canyon should be on every family’s bucket list. A visit to this impressive site is possible via day-trip from Sedona, Arizona.

Here in Sedona, higher elevation here makes the hot desert sun more bearable during the summer months. Surrounded by hiking trails on all sides, we love Sedona’s Enchantment Resort (their pool is always a hit after a long hike!).

Book It: The drive from Denver to Sedona is about 11 hours, and can be easily broken up with a stop in Moab, Utah or Santa Fe, New Mexico. Enchantment Resort’s cancellation policy is 7 days before arrival for a full refund of the one night deposit.

Discover Lake Life at Grandview Lodge in Northern Minnesota

For a true slice of Americana, head north to explore Minnesota’s famous lake country. Grandview Lodge is our top pick for a family getaway. Here you can book a cozy lakefront cabin or a lovely 4-5 bedroom home and have access to amenities like complimentary pontoon boat rides, SUP, road bikes, two pools, nightly s’mores on the beach and much more.

Book It: Grandview Lodge is located in Nisswa, Minnesota which is about a 14 hour drive from Denver. Consider breaking up the trip with a stop at Mt. Rushmore and explore the Badlands en route. Bookings here can be cancelled within 30 days of arrival for a full refund of the one night deposit paid at the time of booking.
